In publishing "Recitals", the intention has been to cover the initial and most difficult stages of guitar learning with a repertoire of pieces. The volumes are graded according to difficulty and therefore the pieces do not need to be used in sequence but rather in accordance with requirements of the individual.
As there is a surfeit of guitar studies already available, "Recitals" put emphasis on pieces, either authentic or arranged, from the musical periods of the 16th to 20th centuries.
Especially "Recital I, II" consists of two parts, which help the beginner to resolve a lot of technical problems. Part I contains pieces for solo quitar and part II contains arrangements of pieces and songs, from all over the world, for two guitars. A major role (especially in the second part duets) place the music of Manos Hadjidakis. It is nesessery for the newer generations to be taught understand and appreciate the work of the leading composer of the 20th century.
